The blood donation campaign for players and the eSports community, LastOnline, will also be visible at Assembly Winter this year in collaboration with the Blood Service.
The highly popular digital festival Assembly Winter 2025 will be held at the Helsinki Messe Center from February 20 to 23. This year, the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service is the official partner of Assembly Organizing.
The Blood Service lounge and its events are made possible by LastOnline’s creator, the eSports organization RoundsGG.
“We saw an opportunity to help and reach a new target group of blood donors. Additionally, we want to highlight the strength of gamers in a positive way. The gaming community is active and well-networked through various digital channels,” says Jussi Kallioniemi, CEO of RoundsGG and board member of the Finnish Electronic Sports Federation.
Kallioniemi also fondly recalls last year’s collaboration at the Assembly festival.
“Blood donation intrigued Assembly visitors so much that it surprised us. I believe blood donation will become a habit for gamers. We are grateful that the Blood Service embraced the idea without hesitation. It has been wonderful to see how players, influencers, and organizations have come together to promote this important cause.”
Players can donate blood
The blood donation bus will be driven into the LAN hall and will operate from Thursday to Saturday, 12:00–18:00.
On Thursday and Friday, blood donations are accepted, and now first-time donors can also give blood on the bus. On Saturday, first-time donors can come for blood type determination.
Influencers from the gaming industry and Red Bull simulators
The Blood Service and LastOnline have their own lounge next to the blood donation bus. There, visitors can discuss blood donation and the Stem Cell Registry, but also test Red Bull driving simulators, gaming computers, and meet influencers from the gaming industry.
The campaign’s events will also take over the Red Bull Gaming Sphere on Saturday and Sunday.
