Opening hours at Blood Service around Christmas time
Christmas Eve falls on a weekend this year. On Friday 22 December, blood can be donated at the Blood Service's permanent locations and blood donation events at Hyvinkää, Porvoo, Loimaa, Pirkkala and Ähtävä. The next possibility is on Boxing Day 26 December.
Blood Sercive encourages blood donors to donate more actively on the days around christmas holidays, as patients still need blood products regardless of the holidays. For example, platelets, which are important for many cancer patients, only last for a few days after donation.
On Friday 22 December, blood can be donated at the Blood Service’s permanent locations within normal opening hours, except at Seinäjoki. There will be a blood donation event in Ähtävä between 13-17.30. Other blood donation events on Friday 22 December are:
Next time blood donors are needed on Boxing Day 26 December. All permanent locations are open and a blood donation event will be organized at Riihimäki between 12-17.
