Jari Martelin to lead the FRCBS production laboratory
Jari Martelin has been appointed as the new laboratory director of the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service (FRCBS) production laboratory. He will start his position on May 6, 2024.
The operation of the production laboratory led by Jari Martelin forms an important part of the safety of blood products. Blood donor samples and quality control samples of blood products are tested in the laboratory using versatile laboratory methods. More than two million samples are analyzed annually, around the clock.
Martelin has a long experience in the laboratory field. He is a doctor of philosophy in the field of clinical microbiology and also has specialized training as a hospital microbiologist. Martelin will transfer to Veripalvelu from the position as clinical study manager at Uniogen Oy.
