Why are more blood donors with rare blood types needed?

There is a shortage of donors with rare blood types. We need many donors from different backgrounds in the reserve to find rare blood types.

Patients strive to receive blood from their own blood type to avoid the formation of antibodies in the body. The more individual blood donors there are and the more diverse their geographical backgrounds, the better the chances of finding a suitable donor for each patient.
