South Korea

If you have recently travelled in a malaria-risk area, please wait six months before donating blood after returning to Finland.

Travelling elsewhere in the country results in a 28-day donation deferral period and living in the country results in a three-month donation deferral period. Malaria occurs in the provinces bordering North Korea, but there is no risk of malaria in other parts of the country or in Seoul. Passing through or spending a night in the city of Incheon or in the airport area does not prevent blood donation.
