Long flights

Before taking a long flight, a blood donor needs to have restored his or her fluid balance. Therefore a long (such as an intercontinental) flight cannot be recommended within less than 24 hours from blood donation. Airlines and aviation organisations often have much stricter rules than this concerning the air crew.
