Welcome to donate blood!

Donating blood is an easy and practical way to help:

• It takes only about an hour of your day.
• One donation helps up to three patients.
• You’ll always get a good feeling and a snack.
• As a first‑time donor, you’ll receive a Lifesaver bag and get to know your blood type.

Most of us can donate blood. If you are healthy, aged 18–65, and weigh at least 50 kg, donate blood and make a difference by helping patients! ❤️

Donate blood during Easter

There are only 4 donation days before Easter, so donors’ help is needed more than usual.

👉 On Good Friday (April 3), blood donation centers are closed, but on Easter Monday (April 6), you can donate blood at almost all donation centers across Finland.

✅ Do a good deed this Easter and help patients by donating blood. Book an appointment and be part of helping.

Over 1 500 new blood donors are needed in Oulu area this year

More new blood donors are needed, as only 3 % of people eligible to donate give blood each year. Some experienced donors also have to stop donating due to age or illness.

Last year, 1 477 people donated blood for the first time in Oulu area. Unfortunately, this is not enough. New donors are needed to ensure patient care now and in the future.

Could you be one of them? ❤️

1. Book an appointment or drop by to ask about available times at the Blood Service Oulu.
2. Fill out the health questionnaire on the day of your donation.
3. Once you arrive, a nurse will go through the questionnaire with you before the donation.
4. The blood donation itself takes only about ten minutes.
5. After donating, you can enjoy refreshments and take it easy for the rest of the day.

Park for free at Kivisydän

Blood donors will be given one hour of free parking in the Kivisydän car park. You can obtain the parking discount when you go to reception by presenting either your car’s registration number or your telephone number.

Only Moovy app users can claim their free hour of parking using their phone number. If you don’t yet have the Moovy app and are driving to donate blood, please provide your car’s registration plate number when you arrive at the donation site!

The discount will be automatically applied to your parking session. The parking discount is always a one-time discount only. If you park in Kivisydän for longer than the discounted time, you can pay for the excess time at a payment machine. If you are using the Moovy app, the app will automatically charge you for the extra time.

Coming with a larger group?

If you’re coming as a larger group, please book an individual appointment for each person. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get consecutive time slots. If you need assistance, you can call us at 029 300 1110 and we can make the reservations for you.

Groups of at least four people receive a free taxi ride! The maximum distance is 20 km per direction, and the taxi must accept a taxi card as a payment method. Read more about the taxi service.
